ইদ্রাকপুর কেল্লা

Address: Munshiganj

What Shawon rahman saying about this place:

This one is basically a river fort in Munshiganj which was built in Mughal Era to avoid pirate attacks in that region. The fort was built in the bank of the junction of the two rivers Meghna and Ichhamati. During my visit, I had a memorable boat journey there. The whole experience was good.

Idrakpur Fort is an intriguing place colored in pastel pink. The color is faded now. But the wonderful structure is still standing still proudly even after all these centuries. The place is quite aesthetic and photogenic. We wandered around the place to take photographs and enjoyed the place.

Idrakpur Fort is vast and Royal place beside the riverside in Munshiganj. It was founded by the Subadar of Bengal under the Mughal empire named Mir Jumla in about 1660 A.D. It was built for ruling purpose of Mughal empire as well as to defend Dhaka and Narayanganj from outer attacks. This is a beautiful historical place.
