If you are a Bangladeshi or a foreigner you must visit the national memorial if you haven't visited. It will let yoy feel the sacrifice & history of the birth of Bangladesh. This is a bit away from Dhaka at Savar. But on a weekend will not take more than 30 minutes from Dhaka.

It is a nice and clean place. The place is decorated with greenery and historical charming monument. There ain't a lot of people on weekdays. Beware of people trying to sell stuff at exaggerated prices. Good stopover for onward trips out of Dhaka.

This is a wonderful architectural beauty in Bangladesh. Located an hour away from the center of Dhaka city, it is a place where we show respect to all our martyrs who died during the Liberation War. This monument is the pride of the nation.

As a reminder of the Liberation War of Bangladesh, the memorial lies in the middle of a well manicured garden. It is surrounded by graves of unknown soldiers who helped to fight for the independence of Bangladesh. It might not be a "must see", but if you get a chance, definitely check it out to feel solemn respect for the martyrs.
