EditSinhagad Fort is an archaeological citadel in the Sahyadri Mountains recognized for its historic value and architectural styles. It was formerly known as Kondhana and has seen a series of conflicts and battles, the most noteworthy of which was the 1670 Battle of Sinhagad. This fort bears testament to Shivaji's marine corps, which was afterwards led by Kanhoji Angre during the reign of Shivaji's grandson Shahu I and ascended to grandeur.
