What Elena Roy saying about this place:

Mount Everest is still and always will top notch destination for the ultimate mountain adventurers. While the daring mountaineers take it as their goal to reach the pinnacle of the majestic Himalayas,it is also possible to explore and get close to Everest without climbing. The Everest region is actually a little world itself, with high mountains, deep valleys and glaciers. The trekking tour is considered as a life changing experience to some as it is a great challenge to the physical and mental endurance. Expedition to Everest gives an impression of trekking only, but there are actually a whole new world to explore - mountain viewing, meeting the locals and experiencing their culture, bird watching, skydiving and a lot more.

Travellers Experience / Reviews about Mt Everest

Best time for mountaineers to climb Mount Everest is from April to Mid June. Starting from Kathmandu it requires 12- 15 days to reach the base camp and return. The trip includes days of trekking, almost eight hours a day. The weather can be extremely adverse depending on the time of the year. The altitude is of 5500 meters. So it can be assumed easily the tour is not just any walk in the park. And one must have excellent physical health and ability to join the team. The trekking lodges have only very basic facilities, often with no or very poor connection of Wi-Fi. Charging any device will cost additional expense. Meals are not included in any pacakage. There are some risk of being affected by Acute Mountain Syndrome. Some tourists may need extra care if they feel more than discomfort, which will be provided by guides and team leaders.

The trip starts from Kathmandu, where the trekkers will take a 30-45 minutes flight to Lukla early in the morning. After reaching there, the hiking to Phakding starts. It is comparatively easy one, taking 3 hours through Dudhkosi valley. Trekkers will cross the Thadokoshi river. The trail continues towards Phakding for night stay. Next day tourists have to cross the Dudhkosi river on amazing suspension bridges to the way to Namche. It is a 2-3 hours climb with two beautiful viewpoints. After 5-6 hours of difficult hiking there is finally the famous Namche Bazar (3440 m). From there starts a day's hike through the village of Khunde and Khumjung. Then a gradual climb to Everest View Hotel, after taking rest again starts from there descending towards Namche (3540 m).

Next trek to Tengboche ( 3790 m) consists in and out of side valleys. Trekkers pass the small settlement of Sanasa from where the trail drops towards Phunkithanga( 3250 m). The trail becomes very steep from here through pine forests, and follows the side of a hill to Tengboche( 3870m).The next day trek takes to Dingboche(4350m),with a lot of mountsin views. Following day trek is up to Chhukung valley, facing strong winds. Night stay at Dingboche and following day climb to chorten trail, which is a gentle climb. In this way travellers reach Thugla (4600 m),getting close to high mountains like Mt. Pumori and Mt. Nuptse. Next day a 2 hours hike up to Gorakshep( 5207 m). This trek can get really hard at times. From Gorakshep the hike to Everest Base Camp begins( 5360 m). Finally after reaching there, all the hardship are compensated by the unparalleled feeling of victory and achievement.
