Swinging Bridge

Address: Big Springs Dr, Thermopolis, WY

What Henry Theodore saying about this place:

Best place to visit. Don't miss this little side trip when in town. It's free! Drive past the hot springs and park at the back by the ponds. Drop 25 cents in the food machines by the pond and feed the fish. Then venture over to the bridge and take in the sites. If you have more time, drive through the end of the parking lot and take the little trip through the Buffalo. We also stop here on our drive through Thermopolis.

About Swinging Bridge

Edit

Within Hot Springs State Park, in the lovely Thermopolis, Wyoming, the well-known Swinging Bridge, a suspension bridge, crosses the Bighorn River. This bridge has a long past. It was built to help ranchers who lived alone cross the Snake River. It was rebuilt with steel and cables, with ideas from the Golden Gate Bridge. Today, it is a beautiful and slightly scary attraction that gives people amazing views of the wild world around them.

The Swinging Bridge is a must-see for anyone in Thermopolis. It is on Big Springs Drive. Cross the bridge free of charge; it is available daily from 6 AM to 9 PM. This makes it a cheap place to visit. The bridge may sway as you walk across it, but it is strong and safe for people who watch where they step. However, the bridge is not accessible by wheelchair, and people who are afraid of heights should be extra careful.

During the warmer months, when the area around the Swinging Bridge is green and alive, is the best time to go. People can also visit the nearby Hot Springs State Park, where they can do more outdoor activities like hike, lunch, and soak in natural hot springs.

Children, environmentalists, and others who enjoy learning about the past will find this area fantastic. Because Thermopolis and the Swinging Bridge in Wyoming are reasonably priced to live in, have a good mood, and have breathtaking landscape, people adore visiting there.

Highly recommend!! The bridge is a really cool piece of architecture and is located just past the main pools that drain into the river. Walking out to the bridge allowed us to see the pools and the cool overflow and mineral buildup you see in the photos.
