The Kopotakkho started from the Mathabhanga River with an extraordinary wander. A channel was burrowed to run the stream along an abbreviated course keeping away from the wander and the Kopotakkho got separated from the Mathabhanga. The Mathabhanga parts into four fundamental channels-the Churni, Chitra, nabaganga, and Kumar-inside the Kushtia locale.

Kopotakkho River the pre-Dravidian term 'Kabadak' was changed into Sanskrit. The waterway ichamati extended into two streams at Darshana in the Kushtia region. One streaming southeast is known as the Bhai Rab. At the south of Kotchandpur, a branch fans out from the Bhairab and streaming south meets with the shibsa close to Paikgachha in the Khulna area.
