Jeroshewari is denoted as one of the 51 Peeth of Sati and according to the beliefs it is said that the various parts of Sati’s body fall here. And Jeroshweewari is the place where her palm fell. Research says, the general of Maharaja Pratapaditya one day discovered a ray of light coming from the bushes and came upon a piece of stone carved in the form of a human palm. That's where the theory of the palm came from. And as to be the “Goddess of Jessore”,it was named after Jessore.

The temple is beautiful in a word! It’s super exquisite and neat. People from all grounds visit the temple and worship is done by the priest every Saturday and Tuesday at noon time. And every year exclusively on the day of Kali puja, the caretakers of the temple conduct a ceremony. Also, a mela takes place around the temple’s compound at times. Visited the temple in 2018 and it was worth the visit totally! 10/10 recommended.
