Doyamoyee Temple

Medical Rd, Jamalpur

The 321 year old DoyaMoyee temple still holds various pujas every day and Hindus who come to the Ashtami Mela every year make vows to various deities. The temple opens daily from 8am to 10pm and I think this makes it very convenient for the tourists to visit the place from different parts of the country. I visited this place a few years ago and still remember the festiveness of it. A wonderful place for heritage enthusiasts.

Great place, great service too. Really liked their food. Their dining room is named “Dwip Dining hall” and I think that speaks a lot about food quality! The ambience around the hall is also great as you can enjoy the nature and greenery through the glass windows. The hall also is situated around a sylvan lake so it seems like the hall is floating on water and you can also enjoy the birds chirping around you!

Khan Jahan Ali Majar Jame Mosque

Bagerhat

There’s a takur dighi tank in Bagerhat and the Khan Jahan Ali mosque is situated to the west of it. The mosque’s western wall conventionally faces west towards Mecca. The mosque’s interior is divided into three aisles and three bays by two rows of stone pillars. This created nine independent square bays. And each of the domes are covered by an inverted cup-shaped dome. The architecture of the mosque is just inspiring. It's not neatly built. The phase of the transition for each of the domes is achieved by traditional Bengali pendentives.
