Surma Bridge

Address: Chhatak Sunamgonj Rd

What Tripty Sarkar saying about this place:

A bridge built 200 Years ago during the British Raj, I find it overwhelming every time I cross over it, it's a very powerful feeling crossing over the bridge, I feel how iconic it must have looked when there was not much in Sylhet to see, today only rickshaws and bikes are allowed over the bridge and emergency vehicles, it's worth a walk over you get to see the river Surma

Travellers Experience / Reviews about Surma Bridge

The Keane Bridge is famously referred to as Surma Bridge as its preposterous River, an eminent milestone of Sylhet and called the doorway to Sylhet city. It is an old iron extension yet being utilized for the most part by the people on foot and carts. It's worth meandering around the scaffold during late evening and a stroll over it to see the Surma River. There is a Floating café called Surma Cruise, which is a decent spot to eat.

The Bridge has been serving individuals to enter Sylhet since 1936. One of the outstanding famous designs in more prominent Sylhet locale just as in Bangladesh it gives a novel inclination by entering a grand city with extraordinary interest and energy. The Keane Bridge slant is high to such an extent that the cart puller upholds to employ an impermanent partner to assist him with intersecting the slant of the extension at cost 5 TK (2017).
