What Lucas william saying about this place:
Given that volunteers maintain the park with contributions, I advise carrying cash. One would find great enjoyment spending an afternoon here. There is something for everyone at their rides, restaurants, and museum.
Since its 1979 opening, Medford Railroad Park in Medford, Oregon, has been delighting visitors with its lovely and romantic appeal. A committed group of volunteers from several neighbourhood organisations oversees the park. Medford Railroad Park offers guests a distinctive perspective on the long railway past of the region. Children, train supporters, and everyone else wishing to see something from the past will find the park open on various weekends and holidays.
The park features an intriguing model railway that remarkably faithfully depicts the Medford to Klamath Falls railway from 1988. This model highlights the historical lumber industry of the Rogue Valley and captures a period when railways were vital for the local economy. The model is a gentle reminder of a significant period in local history since more than half of the mills along the railway were shuttered by 1992.
Medford Railroad Park has a lot of different things for people to do. The model trains are the main draw at the park. They run through a landscape with tiny towns, forests, and bridges. Members of the Rogue Valley Model Railway Club run the trains and are very proud of how well they take care of and improve the tracks, lights, and switches. People of all ages can spend hours watching the trains go by on the tracks. The attention to detail is really amazing.
Along with the model trains, the park has a number of historical displays that show how railways in Southern Oregon have changed over time. These displays are taken care of by the Southern Oregon Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society. They have a lot of useful information about how railways changed the area. Kids can also do hands-on tasks, so the whole family can have fun and learn at the same time.
The volunteers' friendship makes the park feel even cosier. They are always happy to share their knowledge and love of trains with guests. Medford Railroad Park has something for everyone whether your family day out is simple or you enjoy trains. The park honours the effort of the local residents to preserve this piece of history so that other generations could enjoy it.
Remember that the park is only open at specific periods of year, generally spring through October, when you make travel plans. The greatest time to visit is in the warmer months, when the park is open constantly and the weather is perfect for an outdoor activity. Families and groups can spend a cheap time since admission is free. The park may not feature many modern amenities like fast internet or cashless payment options, but the purpose is to appreciate the simple pleasures in life.
Medford Railroad Park is a fantastic stop on a day trip from Medford since it is near many other interesting activities in the area. Families can visit Bear Creek Park, the Medford Children's Museum, and other surrounding sites. The park is adjacent to numerous stores and restaurants since Medford is where it is located, thus spending the day visiting the town and its surrounds is easy.

Great area to hang out with the kiddies Younger children find it attractive but adults and older children have some fun. There are few trains to ride and areas for drinks and food. The volunteers are not paid; kindly help to keep this location running by donating what you can.
