I recently visited Moose Lake State Park and Geological center had a fantastic time exploring the trails and learning about the geology of the area. The Agate/Geological Interpretive Center was fascinating, and the lakes were perfect for fishing and kayaking. It's a great spot for families and nature lovers!
Moose Lake Agate and Geological Center is located near Moose Lake, MN, in Carlton County, Minnesota, USA. As part of the park, you will find hiking trails of 5.5 miles, Echo Lake, wildlife ponds, paved trails to Moose Lake and Willard Munger State Trail, and Agate/Geological Interpretive Center, located inside the park office. It is possible to bike along the widened shoulder of County Highway 137 to the park's paved spur trail. A variety of winter activities are available at the park, including ice fishing, hiking, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing. I loved the tiny museum! The agate collection is impressive, and the timeline on the wall, detailing rock creation and our brief human history, was especially fascinating.
