Achranga Dighi is a traditional monument of ancient civilization located in Mamudpur union of Khetlal Upazilla. It falls under Joypurhat district. According to research, this dighi was dug by Maun Bhatta in the middle of the ninth century for the purpose of cultivating agricultural lands. The dighi spreads over an area of about 26 acres and is 1000 feet long and 1060 feet wide. It was built in an era when agricultural lands became unsuitable for cultivation due to low rainfall.

The dighi is huge in size and has 4 bound ghats and innumerable green trees around it. There are also various folk tales surrounding the lake. The lake was re-excavated and afforested in the year 1992. And about 12 ancient statues have been found at that time and they are now preserved in various museums of the country. During winter, tons of visitors go there to spend time in the enchanting natural environment of the lake

It's very easy and convenient to go there as you can get buses from Mohakhali, Abdullahpur, Shyamoli (if you’re travelling from Dhaka) and can reach Joypurhat District at one go. After you reach there, you can take another bus which goes to Khetlal Upazila and lastly, you can take a local transport from there to reach Achranga Dighi directly as its only 9km away from there. 9/10 recommended.
