Travellers Experience / Reviews about Annapurna Mountain

Annapurna is considered as one of the most challenging and difficult mountains to conquer. Being one of the Nepal's famous mountain ranges, it consists of several peaks. Among them Annapurna I and Annapurna II are the tallest, almost 8000 meters. The fascinating Annapurna always holds a fatal attraction for the mountaineers. Trekking tour to Annapurna Base Camp is considered as the most diverse and breathtaking hiking trip. Trekking to Annapurna is the less travelled path compared to the more popular Everest Base Camp. But the quieter trail allows the trekkers deeper into the local culture, along with a wider variety of landscape.

Trekking through the fabulous Annapurna can be quite daunting, but the sense of achievement will be much more satisfying and unforgettable than the adversities. The trip allows to discover different side of Himalayas, undisturbed natural forests, snow capped mountains and rich, vibrant cultures of many ethnic communities. As in any trekking adventure,an excellent level of fitness and physical health is required, with treks up to 9 hours a day. Accommodation on this trip is simple tea houses with very basic facilities.

The incredible trip to majestic Annapurna begins from Kathmandu. After exploring the capital city of Nepal, journey towards Pokhara begins. The second largest city of Nepal is enriched with rivers, villages, farms and incredible mountain sceneries. From there a 2 hours drive to the village of Shyaule begins. The trek officially starts from there. Hiking through the stone paved trail the trekkers reach the small village of Kimche. After a break, the day's trek will be finished at the village of Ghandruk. The following day trek from Ghandruk leads to higher altitude into the cool shade of forests. Trekkers descend into the Kimrong River Valley. After a brief break the climb will lead to the top of a hill with breathtaking views of Annapurna region. Through a downhill walk, there awaits village of Chhomrong, gateway to Annapurna Base Camp.
